Choosing the right level of service

The level of service is about how the rider moves, not how sick they are or how far they are going. Booking the wrong one is the single most common cause of a trip going badly, so it is worth a moment.

Ambulatory — the rider can walk with a steadying arm, a cane or a walker, and can manage a standard vehicle seat.

Wheelchair — the rider stays in a chair for the whole trip. The chair loads through the rear of the van and is secured to the floor. No transfer required.

Stretcher — the rider cannot sit upright safely, or is bedbound. Bed-to-bed service with a two-person crew.

Bariatric — riders over roughly 300 pounds, using reinforced equipment and vehicles sized to match.

What every trip includes

• Door-through-door assistance at both ends, not curb drop-off
• A wheelchair at no additional cost if the rider does not have one, with elevated leg rests and cushions
• Securement to the floor of the van for personal wheelchairs and power scooters
• A confirmation call or text within two hours of booking
• Detailed receipts suitable for insurance or HSA reimbursement

Two things carry an additional charge and are worth knowing about up front: stairs, which require a second crew member and add a minimum of $75 each way, and bariatric service, which uses different equipment.

Everything on this page is non-emergency transportation. We do not provide medical care or monitoring during the ride, we do not transport anyone to an emergency room, and we do not move patients between hospitals for a higher level of care.
