About H&M Transport

About Us

H&M Transport is a family owned and operated non-emergency medical transport business that has been servicing clients throughout Virginia and the Washington DC Metro since 2010. We provide transportation services to those who are unable to transport themselves. Whether you just need a ride to the bank, doctors appointment, or multiple trips per week for dialysis, H&M Transport is here to meet your needs. Our fleet is the largest and newest fleet in the region, and all of our vans accommodate wheelchairs and stretchers. See below for where we run.

We accept cash, check and all major credit cards. Payment is accepted up front, and we provide detailed receipts for insurance/HSA reimbursement.

Family Owned & Operated

Serving Areas of VA, WV, MD & DC

Where we operate

H&M Transport runs every day across Northern Virginia, Washington DC and the Maryland suburbs: Prince William, Fairfax, Loudoun, Arlington, Fauquier and Culpeper counties and the cities inside them, the District itself, and Montgomery and Prince George’s counties in Maryland.

Crossing those lines is a licensing question, not a driving one. We hold WMATC authority 3449 alongside Virginia DMV Certificate #524, which is what lets one vehicle take a rider from Manassas to a DC hospital and back without a handoff.

We also run long-distance trips well beyond that footprint, including moves between states. If your trip starts or ends outside the daily service area, call (703) 304-7889 and we will quote it.

Credentials and accreditation

  • NEMTAC accredited — the Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Accreditation Commission standard for safety, training and operations
  • Virginia DMV Certificate #524
  • WMATC authority 3449 — which is what allows us to carry passengers across into Washington DC and Maryland rather than stopping at the state line
  • Family owned and operated since 2010

What we do and what we don’t

We run non-emergency medical transportation. We take people to scheduled medical care and bring them home again: dialysis, oncology, surgery and pre-op appointments, imaging, physical therapy, and discharges from a hospital to home or to a skilled nursing or rehabilitation facility.

There are trips we cannot take. We are not an ambulance service. We do not provide medical care or monitoring on board, we do not transport anyone to an emergency room, and we do not move patients from one hospital to another for a higher level of care. Those are ambulance trips.

If this is a medical emergency, call 911. If you are not sure which you need, call us and describe the situation — we would rather point you to 911 than send the wrong vehicle.
